Instrument TrainingAdd the instrument rating to your certificate, and open up a whole new world of flying. In addition to increasing the number of flyable days per year, an instrument rating increases your level of aircraft control and infinitely increases your margin of safety for everyday VFR flying. Inadvertent VFR into IMC conditions is one of the major pilot killers. Instrument training will prepare you to avoid those situations as a VFR pilot, and excel in them as an IFR pilot. You can obtain your IFR add-on with as little as 15 hours of dual instruction. I am a firm believer that as much of this training as possible should occur in actual IMC conditions; to learn to fly in the clouds, one should actually fly in the clouds...it boggles my mind that some CFII's don't agree with this theory. Here in the North East we have every type of approach available, bad weather, and busy airspace to help hone your skills. Come learn in one of the nations most demanding regions. IFR Finish-UpHave you started your training, but failed to complete it? I will work with you as often as your schedule allows to finish your training. IFR Currency, Instrument Proficiency CheckInstrument rated, but not current? Let's spend a couple of hours and brush up your IFR skills. The FAA mandated currency is an absolute minimum, for most pilots it is not enough to be safe while flying actual IMC. Click here for more information in the IPC. Accelerated TrainingI will schedule a block of time to get you through your rating as efficiently as possible. Working each day can result in a successful check ride in as few as 7 days if you are a current VFR pilot, and come prepared for the knowledge test. This style of learning allows for total immersion in the material and minimizes frustrating review and forgotten information over time.
